My family and I went in to this establishment to look at their fireplaces. Our 2 year old had to use the bathroom and we were told it was broken. When my toddler found the bathroom and wanted to use it we told her not to as it was broken..and then the Manager of this.establishment said "I already told you not to use it!" I will never buy any of their products!
I will never buy a fire place from this place of business. The people there were rude, left me feeling like i was a piece of trash. I will be shopping elsewhere
I have always enjoyed the up north fireplace gallery because of the overall quality of the products. Along with that I have enjoyed all the employees I have met at up north fireplace they have always treated me nice and worked hard. After all is said and done I am satisified with the overall fireplace experience I am left with a 5 star experience!
We wish we would have never bought out fireplace from this store. We ordered our fireplace and when we went to pick it up on Friday at 4:00 PM, and that is when there true colors come out. First we find out they won't take a credit card, so we had to write a check. We asked them to hold the check till Monday because we had to make sure we had enough in the checkbook, and they said they would. After we paid them he took me in the back to show me that they damaged the outside of our fireplace with a fork lift and that he taped it back together upon the company instructions. Funny thing was the box in big writing said no moving with forklifts. Trying to be a nice guy I be-leaved him. I had given Gary the height measurement of our house and he insisted that we take extra pieces in case we needed them, that it would be no problem to bring them back if we didn't need them. In my opinion to lazy to really figure out what we needed. So we took the fireplace home put it in the house and my heating guy one day seen the damage and told us we can't install a fire place with it being taped together like that. So i decided to call the company to find out if this was an appreciate fix, for fixing the out side shell of the fireplace. The first thing he asked me is if I bought it as a damage unit. My answer was no. He told me that they would never tell anybody to fix it with tape and that I had the right to take it back, and have it replaced or repaired correctly by fixing the area by putting new tin over over the damaged area. He also told me that he was the only person that would answer a question about how to fix a damaged unit. Unfortunately before I got the nerve to call him, we get a bill in the mail saying we owe them $25 for writing them a bad check. (Thanks for holding the check until Monday) So when I called him the next day to discuss getting the damaged fixed correctly per company instructions he was needless to say not very nice. All he really cared about was getting $25 from us because we were stupid enough to think that we could trust that they would hold the check until Monday. After we got past the payment discussion. He told me that I could fix the fireplace myself because it was to far for them too come out and fix it. He also didn't seem very happy that I actually called the company and that he got caught lying about saying they told him to fix it with tape which at this time was starting to fall off. Since then we had to write a letter back to the collection agency about why we don't think we owe him the $25 and he will not let us return the extra parts that we didn't need, that he said we could return if we didn't need them. I can't imagine what will happen if we ever need warranty on this unit. Go some where else. There are better places that sell this brand.
